If i had been on stock rockers, the rocker amr could have gotten wedged somewhere and held a valve open, then I would really have been fucked. Luckily the bolt head didn't fall into my motor, and the dual-rocker setup of the Yella Terras meant I still had one bolt holding the arm somewhat in place. When I pulled the valve covers, I saw immediately waht was wrong.Ī rocker arm bolt had snapped off at the head, letting the rocker flail about under the cover out of control. I limped home (luckily I was only 1/4 mile from my driveway) and popped the hood. I was absolutely sure that I had destroyed my motor. I heard a loud bang and lots of backfiring and clanging coming from the engine. It didn't raise its ugly head until a few days later, when I was doing a quick 1-2 WOT run. apparently, and I don't know how I missed this because I double checked everything, I mis-torqued a rocker arm bolt. I had just pulled the heads off and put them back on after measuring PTV clearance. Here's the story behind my near fatal (for my engine) incident: To repeat what PB said, make sure you grind down those metal humps a little for clearance.
